The Stoney Creek Singers are a northern contemporary style drum group whose journey began in November 1993 at the Great American Indian Exposition in Richmond, VA. Formed by former members of the Young Society Singers and White Tail Singers, this group is made up of citizens and descendants of the Haliwa-Saponi, Lumbee, Waccamaw-Siouan, Coharie, Chickahominy, and Upper Mattonponi tribes.

Over the past 30+ years, Stoney Creek has traveled extensively across the United States and Canada, sharing their music and representing their communities on some of the biggest stages in the powwow world. Their legacy includes:

  • 14 albums released and shared worldwide

  • Serving as invited drum twice at the Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque, NM

  • Host Drum at Crow Fair in Crow Agency, MT

  • Singing champions and host drum at the Saginaw Chippewa Powwow in Mount Pleasant, MI

  • Second place at Morongo Powwow in California

  • Multiple time National Powwow champions

  • First place honors at the Canadian Aboriginal Festival in Toronto, Canada

  • Featured performers at the New Orleans Jazz Fest in Louisiana

Today, Stoney Creek continues to rock the powwow trail, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of singers from North Carolina and the East Coast. Their music remains a vibrant reflection of culture, tradition, and community.
